I'm Yuan Zhang, the passionate mind behind IXDAO or 九纛, the brand is inspired by a set of nine ceremonial banners used in ancient chinese military and imperial traditions. They symbolized high rank, authority, and ceremonial presitge, mirroing my appreciation for Genghis Khan's culture and Mongolia's rich heritage.
My passion extends to collecting various swords, blades, and knives, each with its own unique story of craftsmanship and historical significance — qualities we emulate in every IXDAO timepiece.
When I'm not immersed in designing watches, I enjoy the thrill of collecting and riding racehorses. Among my collection is a cherished retired champion, Feline Like Flyin', from the Melbourne Cup in Australia. The family is my anchor, and I cherish every moment spent with my two young kids. They inspire me to pursue excellence in every watch we create.
